The school's dance team performed the "茉莉花" dance in 2010 mid-moon festival party in front of about 300 people. Their dance was well praised by the audiences. Below is part of the letter we received from the Chairman of the ECAP, one of the co-organisers. "Kids'performance was brilliant. I always think that a festival party is not complete if without children's participation. I am sure that all audiences were amazed by children's beautiful dancing. Thanks to your hard work, Zhonghong, and thank to the support from Alba Cathay Chinese School." "We really appreciate their (the parents) help in taking kids to the party. Please could you pass our appreciation to these great parents and their lovely children."
The Martin Currie Charitable Foundation has made a generous donation of £3,000 to the School in 2009. The Foundation is run by the staff of Martin Currie, an Edinburgh-based investment management business with longstanding links to China. The donation will go a long way towards acquiring much needed learning materials and essential teaching equipments for our pupils and teachers. It will also contribute to our longer-term development in areas such as teacher training. In addition, it opens up possibilities for our school to provide additional services such as a summer school next year.A letter has been sent from the members of the School Board to express our sincere appreciation to the Martin Currie Charitable Foundation.
